UPDATE: PeacefuL ART PROTEST COLLABORATION WITH BERMUDA NATIONAL GALLERY & CITy of hamilton VIVID Public Art initiative

Mural in progress - Dennis Joaquin translates Meredith Andrews photograph from the June #BLM march.

The Peaceful Art Protest was launched by former Biennial artist Rachel Swinburne earlier this year in response to the #blacklivesmatter movement as a way for artists of all ages to express their solidarity through art.

The mural pictured here is based on a photograph taken by Meredith Andrews which is being translated into a mural by Dennis Joaquin on Front Street, near the No 1 Carpark, the original meeting place for the historic #BLM march which took place in Hamilton in June 2020.

A second mural, created by primary school children, will be installed at the top of Queen Street, near City Hall.
